we had a few days of absolutely gorgeous weather last weekend. it’s typhoon season here in okinawa & that means days upon days {upon days….} of rain, storms & high winds. so when the sun comes out we don’t skip a beat – we know it’s time to get outside & soak it up!
sunday afternoon we packed a lunch, bought a beach umbrella & headed to the water. amelia seriously loves the beach & was so excited to make good use of her new sand toys {her favorite being the hippo dump truck}. caleb staked our umbrella down & i set up my lounge chair, slathered on some 50+ SPF & pretty much just chilled for a few hours — man, was that nice!!!
caleb snorkeled a bit & explored the small island a few hundred feet out from the beach. the water was pretty murky {although you couldn’t tell from the crystal clear picture above, huh??} so he didn’t stay out for long. amelia had a blast hanging out in the water with daddy for awhile — splashing, learning to plug her nose to go underwater & floundering at her first attempts of learning to swim.
she’s such a beach babe already! i can’t believe we didn’t go to the beach more often in california — but we sure are making up for it here! maybe if the weather holds up next weekend we can get back out for another day of fun in the sun…. oh the fabulous possibilities of living on an island!! :]
